About the SHPT Course

Welcome to our Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (SHPT) platform, dedicated to cultivating safe and respectful workplaces through accessible education. Our platform offers a free, comprehensive course tailored to meet state law requirements, with two distinct versions: one for employees and another for supervisors. The training is based on federal law and policies, covering the following topics:

  1. Definition of Sexual Harassment: Clear explanation of what constitutes sexual harassment under the law.
  2. Prohibited Conduct: Detailed information about behaviors that are considered inappropriate and prohibited in the workplace.
  3. Remedies Available to Victims: Explanation of the legal remedies and courses of action available to individuals who experience sexual harassment.
  4. Prevention Strategies: Discussion of strategies to prevent sexual harassment, promote a respectful workplace culture, and encourage bystander intervention.
  5. Legal Consequences: Overview of the legal consequences for individuals and the organization if sexual harassment occurs and is not addressed appropriately.
  6. Retaliation Prevention: Information on the prohibition of retaliation against individuals who report or oppose sexual harassment.
  7. Reporting Procedures: Clear guidance on how to report sexual harassment internally, including the steps involved and the confidentiality of the process.
  8. Supervisor Responsibilities: Specific information for supervisors about their role in preventing and addressing sexual harassment, including how to handle complaints. (Supervisor Course only.)

As mandated by regulations in California, New York, and various states, our Employee Training spans one hour, covering essential aspects of sexual harassment prevention. For supervisors, our two-hour Supervisor Training not only includes the foundational employee course but also provides an additional hour of specialized content crafted to meet the unique responsibilities and challenges faced by supervisors in preventing and addressing sexual harassment.

SHPT is committed to promoting understanding, fostering respectful workplaces, and empowering individuals to contribute to a culture free from harassment. Join us in creating workplaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.

Some states and localities provide additional protections that go beyond the federal laws that are described in this training. This course is not legal advice. If you have questions, contact a work discrimination expert in your area.

SHPT will track the student’s progress and provide a personalized certificate upon completion. It is not necessary to complete the training in one session. If the student leaves the training and comes back, the system will remember their progress.

The course contains several quizzes within the training content. The quiz questions are not difficult. The questions are designed to reinforce an understanding of the content. Each question must be answered correctly to complete the test. If an incorrect answer is given, the user may review the material and take the quiz again.
